Many University of Tennessee Physician Executive MBA students receive partial or full financial assistance from their employers for their studies. In fact, we suggest that your own organization is the first and best place to look for financial aid. Remember, the improvement in patient and organizational outcomes from your Organizational Action Project (OAP) can more than offset the cost of your education.
However, regardless of whether your employer provides financial assistance for your Physician Executive MBA, you must have your employer's explicit sponsorship, meaning the employer agrees to and endorses your participation. That includes granting time off work during residence periods, honoring the concept of total immersion during those periods, and approving your OAP and any other applied assignments carried out during the program year.
In order to deliver the intense High Compression Learning℠ method that enables you to complete your Physician Executive MBA in a single year, we do require your presence at every residence period from beginning to end. It's your responsibility to ensure that your employer and colleagues are aware of the dates you must be in residence and that work is delegated accordingly.
